Borehole Drilling Initiative — Luwero District

Over 3 million Ugandans in rural areas lack safe drinking water. This project funds 8 boreholes across 8 sub-counties in Luwero District. Revenue: community water kiosk charging UGX 200 per 20-litre jerrycan — 200 households per borehole x 3 jerrycans/day = ~$32/day per borehole. Investor returns from kiosk revenue after operating costs. Infrastructure owned by community trust; investors hold revenue-sharing certificates. Partners: UWASNET, District Water Officer Luwero.
